CEO's Update March 2019
With all CRC funded research projects due to be completed by the end of April, March has been one of our busiest ever milestone months. Total milestone invoicing for the month has exceeded $530,000.
We still have some way to go but we are currently on course to achieving our targeted end date. Please refer to the research update for more information on the status of projects that remain in progress.
The joint industry project part funded through the Government’s Carbon Capture and Storage Research Development and Demonstration Fund is also nearing completion with the final report to be sent to the Commonwealth on 1 April. This project has been very successful with new understanding on aspects of fracture control and dispersion and on decompression of dense-phase CO2.I am pleased to advise that UoW researchers will give two presentations on the outcomes of this project at the upcoming Joint Technical Meeting.
The Energy Pipelines CRC team provided updates to the APGA RSC members at their 7 March meeting. I advised on the current status of the transition plan for Energy Pipelines CRC and on the review of the Schedule 2 milestone achievements. Fari provided an update on the finalisation of the research activities and Klaas gave an update on the Future Fuels CRC.
Thank you to the industry advisors who are assisting with the preparation of a number of research summaries based on the outcomes of the programs of work undertaken over the past 9 years.
These summaries will be available on our website once complete.
Our focus now is on finalising the activities of the Energy Pipelines CRC. Government and industry funding for the company will cease as of 30 June 2019.
Accordingly, during the period from July to November, we will complete our reporting requirements to the Commonwealth and the Members of Energy Pipelines CRC. Subsequently, the company will be wound back. As advised previously, access to Energy Pipelines CRC research reports will remain available through the members’ area of our website for some time to come. Additionally, we will provide each Participant representative with soft copies of this information for permanent access.
