CEO's Update January 2019
Happy New Year. I trust that the summer break was safe and enjoyable.
The Centre staff managed to spend some quality time with family and friends over the break and have returned during January refreshed and ready for the tasks ahead,
We are now over half way through our final year of CRC funded activities and there is plenty to do to finalise our obligations to the Commonwealth and Participants. A number of CRC funded research projects are nearing completion – it is our intention to have all projects finalised by April. We will be holding a series of webinars from February to June to disseminate the results from some of these projects – the first webinar will be held on Friday 22 February. Further details are provided within the newsletter.
The next Energy Pipelines CRC Board meeting will be held on Wednesday 13 February. Key discussion will be on the plan for transitioning the company post 30 June. The plan includes proposals on how any surplus cash will be spent, the maintenance and utilisation of the company’s assets and intellectual property and the continued availability of research reports to Participants representatives for the next few years.
This plan will be finalised before May for approval by the Participants, then implemented after 30 June.
The CCS RDD funded project is on track for completion by 31 March. Some of our team will be in Oslo in late February to hold our final face to face meeting with project partners DNV GL and to attend the Climit summit where some of our results will be presented.
We are currently working with some of our long standing industry advisors to produce guidelines and summaries from the outcomes of our research. These will be available on the members’ area of our website once completed.
Our final task will be to produce the 10th and final Annual Report to the Commonwealth by end October. This report will include details of our approved Wind up plan and an Exit Report detailing our achievements over the life of Energy Pipelines CRC.
Additionally, the report will include our final Schedule 2 milestones report and the final cash & in kind reports. A review of the Schedule 2 milestones is under way and we will be providing the program steering committees with details of project outcomes and Schedule 2 milestone achievements for their review and comment.
The Centre team are aware of the challenges ahead in our final months and are looking forward to meeting them.
All the best for 2019.
